Various parts of the body can get affected by this deadly disease. Each of the types has its own cause and is unique in its own way. While some of the cancers are common the rest of them are not so common. Depending upon the cancer type the method of treatment is adopted. Common among both men and women is the cancer of the skin which is diagnosed easily.

Diagnosis in millions of people, the world over:

Every year millions of cases are being diagnosed, especially among the younger generation these days. In many of the developed, underdeveloped and developing countries there are a number of common cancer types that are identified. Thyroid cancer, bladder cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, prostrate cancer, colon cancer, non-Hodgkin cancer, endometrial cancer, melanoma, renal cancer or kidney cancer, lung cancer and leukemia are some of them. Depending upon on the system of the body, classification of different kinds of cancer can be done. Almost any organ in the body could get affected by any type of cancer as cancer cells can travel to any part of the body.

Malignant tumors have cells that invade the organs and tissues in the neighboring areas thus leading to the spread of a dreaded disease. Cancer cells could also enter into the blood stream when these cells break free from the cancerous tumor. Metastasis is the term used for the process in which the disease spreads to the other body parts. Organ of origination is the term used for referring to any type of cancer when metastasis of cancer or spreading of cancer takes place.

Both adults and children get affected:

When the cervix gets affected by cancer due to the spreading of cancer cells in this area, the cancer is called cervical cancer. Lymphoma or leukemia is blood cancer which is caused due to cancerous red blood cells, platelets and white blood cells. Adults and children both can get affected by a rare type of cancer called bone cancer. Teenagers and children also get affected by this cancer primarily. Osteosarcoma and Ewings’s Sarcoma are the two types of bone cancer.
